The Challenge
The customer needed a 500kW duct heater. The working temperature requirement was as high as 600°C. In addition, the equipment had to run continuously for long periods. Off-the-shelf duct heaters could not meet these demanding conditions. So the customer came to us for a tailor-made solution.
Our Custom Solution
We designed a duct heater with a completely different look from conventional units. Every detail was carefully chosen based on the customer’s actual operating conditions.
Here are the key features of our custom design:
- Heating Body Material: We chose 321 stainless steel seamless pipes. This material offers excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation. The pipe wall thickness is 10 mm, which is much thicker than standard designs. As a result, the heater maintains exceptional thermal stability even after many hours of continuous operation.
- Electrical Control System: The control cabinet uses full-group SCR (silicon controlled rectifiers). This allows for precise and smooth power adjustment. We also equipped the system with a Siemens PLC and a user-friendly touchscreen. The customer can easily monitor and adjust parameters, set temperature curves, and check operating status at a glance.
The Result
The custom duct heater was delivered and put into operation successfully. The 321 stainless steel body handles the 600°C working temperature with no issues. The 10 mm thick wall ensures long-term reliability. The Siemens PLC and touchscreen make daily operation simple and safe.
The customer was very satisfied with both the performance and the ease of use.
